"[1fF] moods" is a division of RECORD [ 1fourFIVE ] WE UNCOVER YOUR DISCOVERY To the point: It's about to end! How did you come here? How do you deal with it? What is on your mind? "Naked Feet on Highway Darkness": More than a dozen Stories, characterized by an uncompromising ambivalence that appeals euphoricly, frightening, disturbingly and becalmingly to the listener . An acoustically masterly staged Piece of 13 episodes to absorb and submerge; guaranteed addictive. "...a picture book solo-album which is probably why it is round as a ball" (Uncle Sally*s, 129). Sarcastic, somber, elated, nasty, abstract, weird, melancholic, hymnal, euphoric, ultimate, fabulous... Only on rare occasions it is this hard to find suitable attributes for an album. Extremely rarely an album is still new and surprising after listening to it 30 times. Rare but not impossible! Leonard Las Vegas is here to prove it with his new album "Naked Feet on Highway Darkness".13 different perspectives of various world endings are manufactured into 53 entertaining minutes. From nightly solo runs ("No Need for Wires"), over interpersonal misunderstandings ("Sleeping On My Right Side On The Left Side Of Our Bed Doesn’t Mean I Don't Want You") to the a fleshly apocalypse ("The Herd") Leonard is drawing a wide bow, which in it’s complexity never appears pathetic or stereotyped. That the album is consistent to such an extend may meanwhile not the least also be caused by the fairly short time of developing it. The songs were written and recorded within three months. Matching the subject of the world coming to an end Leonard Las Vegas forewent almost all electronic Instruments and limited the instrumentation to Guitar, Bass, Percussion, Lap Steel and Piano without being trapped in unplugged-serviceable Emo-howling. Correspondingly hard it is to pigeonhole this piece. Vanguard Leonard Las Vegas jumps in between Alternative-Rock, Anti-Folk, Wave, Post-core and Shoegaze, giving it all a subtle Pop.
