About Me

"Local roots rock heroes"

-Arkansas Times

"The sound of Little Rock's Silverton is country...back when country sounded good and not overly slick and polished by the suits of Nashville. It's the music of steel and acoustic guitars intermingled with shuffling rhythms and female background singers."

-Sync

"We are the latest lucky victims to come under the spell of Silverton, an eight-piece folk-rock act that is helping redefine what it means to be a country music act in Arkansas."

-Localist

"Fledgling local group Silverton plays sly, shuffling folk rock. Featuring a number of ex-Tin Fire Radio members, including lead singer Phillip Huddleston, the band has gotten a fair amount of buzz for its stage show, which features two female backing vocalists and a pedal steel guitar."

-Arkansas Times

"Silverton is a young, local band that somehow crammed 7 performers onto the tiny WWT stage and then went to work. I really dug their set a lot. Heavy on the harmonies, with a lead singer who sometimes channeled a young Yusef Islam, Silverton brought a country-rock vibe nicely accentuated with keyboards, double back-up singers, and a barefoot tambourinist. The songs were short and loosely performed–the phrase “happily shambolic” comes to mind, and I mean that in a good way. Silverton seemed to enjoy each other’s company, which goes a long way with me."

-Check One Two

"Silverton has a joyous air of “I can’t believe we’re up here” that utterly infects the room and sends every listener within earshot into involuntary spasms of waaaaaa-hooo! Picture an eight-piece country rock ensemble of keyboards, tambourines, guitars, bass, drums, vocals from every which way, plus not-a-bit of rockstar attitude, and you’ve got Silverton. Think what would happen if the B-52s invited some friends over for a hoedown. How fun would that be? That’s Silverton–shimmyfolkrocklightning in a bottle. "
