Kanekoa is high energy, 5 piece (2 ukuleles, Bass, Drums and Percussion) jam band from Maui Hawaii. Our sound has been labeled in the Hawaiian/Psychedelic/Rock/Folk/Jam/Stoner/Punk categories, since there really is no other way to describe it. Most of the songs that we play were written by all of us, as we each throw our own unique influences into the mix. We are also known for playing obscure cover songs by artists such as the Grateful Dead, The Doors and Santana. We are known by most people because of our extremely unique sounds which stem from 2 electrified ukuleles that are backed by a solid rhythm section, and our high energy stage shows.
