born in rio de janeiro,1960. music was the only thing that would settle him down. at age of 8, after insisting the hell out, and using wood spoons as sticks, won his first drumset. passioneted, couldn't do anithing but playing all day long in his family's little apartment in ipanema.
begun his professional career at 14's. it was a big time for instrumental music then: hermeto, toninho horta and many others. he met bassist jorge degas, at that time joining a famous band INDEX, a great musical and personal influence.
in 86 went to europe where he spent three years traveling and giging around as a side musician and also developing a personal career with his own band with ozias gonçalves, ze neto, julio martins, eduardo penz and others. with the band they performed in: MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL, MULHOUSE JAZZ FESTIVAL, FREIBURG ZELT FESTIVAL and others.
has played and recorded with:joao de aquino, tomas improta, yuri popoff, osmar milito, alberto farah, rubao sabino, jimmy sta cruz,eliana pitman, vika barcellos, johnny alf, betina,monica passos, katia werneck,violeta cavalcanti, marlene, emilinha, ze luiz mazziotti, ellen de lima, carmelia alves, marcus teixeira, rolando faria and many others. has also developed a duo with dancer Henrique Schuller. Ultimately's been touring with great brazilian singer Eliana Pitman and dutch singer Clementine Noordzij in netherland.IMAGES
