| My name is Yaya (yair) Cohen Aharounoff, born in Jerusalem on 13..4..77
I started playing music at the age of 4.
I am a singer songwriter and music producer.
My main instrument is the bass guitar. I also play guitar, keyboards, trumpet and drums.
These days I finished my first solo album which combines rock, and black music, produced by Eyal Leon Katzav,and featuring-Rami Fortis, Karolina and others…
I am a member , and one of the founders of the Israeli funky –hip hop band "hadag nachash". we play together for 11 years now ,and have four albums :two of them went gold ,and are very close to be platinum, the other two are very close to become gold .
Throughout the years we have won many awards by Israeli radio, and the Israeli music channel such as: band of the year, album of the year, song of the year, best video of the year etc.
In 2004 we started to get international reviews with articles by the "ROLLING STONE", "N.Y TIMES" and others, followed by many tours in U.S.A and Canada and shows in London, Berlin, Moscow, Stockholm and Budapest.
I am also a member of "CHAKALAKLA" a live electronic band, and "ANIKUKU"- an Afro groove jamband. In addition I played bass with: berry sacharoff,Teapacks, Dikla, Ronit shahar,Dafna armoni,Yitschak klepter,Ronnie Peterson,and others…
As a producer I have done different types of musical projects. I produced Ari Goralis first album, and songs for :Galya Yaron,Eitan Ulman ,and soon to be released HADAG NACHASH-"kesef"a tribute to shalom Hanoch.
