His early experiences began fishing every day on the river and exploring the wilderness. AT the age of 12, he moved to a farm in Athabasca, Alberta to live with his grandparents. Both grandparents were trappers and hunters, who taught Bruce how to set traps and how to hunt big game. He shot his first white-tailed deer from a horse with a rifle at the age of 14 years old. Then one day, he found an old long bow and arrows in a granary. His first archery experience began by shooting into a haystack. He loved it. At the age of 15, he acquired his first compound bow. Bruce had discovered the world of bowhunting.Bruce has taken numerous species of big game, with a new goal is the 51 North American Big Game with bow and arrow. He specializes in calling and rattling white tailed deer, and consistently uses scents and lures. He is also well-known for his elk and moose calling. Bruce is not only a talented outdoorsman, but also a successful bowhunting guide. He is a rare breed of hunter that combines skill, intuition and cunning to put him and his clients in the path of some amazing situations and record book animals. Other hunters naturally look to him for guidance and suggestions.
