SWAGGER is an aggressive hard rock band hailing from the South Bay (of Los Angeles). A version of the band began playing during their high school years under the name Irish Monkeys and recorded their first cd entitled THE SPOT in 2001. Their sound was originally influenced by Fat Wreck Chords bands like NOFX and Lagwagon. But along with the growth of their capabilities as musicians, their style began to evolve into a more mature and dynamic form of metal/punk characterized by two dueling lead guitars, energetic drums, and melodic vocals. In the fall of 2004, the current lineup finished a 4 song cd - 3 BEERS AND A BONGLOAD. The band then released a 6 song demo called TEASE that consisted of 3 songs from each of their previous recordings. After a hiatus due to members moving out of town (but then returning!), the band is back together again living here in the South Bay for the first time since high school and ready to rock. We've got a recording in the works with Darian Rundal (Pennywise, Strung Out, Deviates, Suicidal Tendencies) at Stall 2 in Redondo Beach. The new demo cd will be done soon so get ready to get those heads a bangin'!! SWAGGER has played hundreds of shows and has shared the stage with bands such as Metal Skool, Guttermouth, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Circle Jerks, Agent Orange, LB Shortbus, and Ignite to name a few. They've wowed audiences all over California, from Huntingotn Bch to Hermosa to the Roxy, Key Club, and Knitting Factory in Hollywood, as well as SLO Brew (San Luis Obispo), Isla Vista (Santa Barbara), and their buddies house parties wherever the women and beer are aflowin. .. make your profile cool MySpace Editor |
