J's Basement is a morally reprehensible collective of degenrates from Toronto. Hailing from the depths of Brockton, Vi. their embarrassing melding of solitudes and grind-core has garnered attention from some of the world's most influential people. Kofi Annan had this to say, J's Basement's new album is causing "...death and suffering on a wholly unacceptable level." George Bush stated, "One thing is clear, is relations between America and J's Basement are good, and they're important that they be good." And on a local note David Miller added "I fuckin' hate those guys. High Park, represent!" J's Basement have just completed their second album, "No Love, No Money" and are crafting a nefarious plot to tackle the world's superpowers starting with Guam. Look out Fiji! It is rumoured that pockets of insurgency are in Iraq, right now. Coincidence, I think not. When asked what influenced such songs from the new album as 'You've Been Hiding (Bin Laden)' Martyn proclaimed simply, "swish and pepperoni. Also, Neil Sedaka. I love Neil Sedaka. I just can't say enough good things about Neil Sedaka, Sedaka, Sedaka. ...Neil Sedaka." We spoke with Danny Marcus about his feelings on the album, "Right now I want to bathe in a bathtub of bathwater." The boys are scheduled to commence their 'Osama Been Rockin' world tour beginning with Europe and Palestine in January of 2007. 'No Love, No Money' is slated for release when hell freezes over on Universal Record's brand new subsidiary, 'Corporate Slut'. So wear a sweater, bitches. |
