| BRAND-NEW MUSIC MADE THE OLD-FASHIONED WAY: REAL VOICES + REAL TUBE AMPS + REAL DRUMS = REAL MUSIC! The G-Men are old enough to prefer their music on vinyl but young enough to still get excited about plugging in their guitars. Our musical neighborhood is located somewhere near the intersection of rockabilly, country, and early sixties rock and roll. We hope you'll find our music interesting and new yet familiar all at the same time. Buy OUR ALBUM FOR 30 CENTS!!!! (It's free if you omit two songs!) BUY OUR ALBUM FOR A BUCK!!!!!! Music:Member Since: 5/13/2007Band Website: showcaseyourmusic.com/gmen Band Members: "The usual gang of idiots" Influences: Here's what we listen to. We hope some of it rubs off on us! Random Thoughts: "Meet the Beatles" is virtually perfect! "Cut Across Shorty" by Eddie Cochran was a musical epiphany! "Calypso" by Harry Belafonte is a fave: simple, elegant, fun. "Dance and Sing Mother Goose--Mother Goose With a Beatle Beat." We just got another copy! It's been so many years since we last heard it--thanks, Pat in CA! British Invasion: Small Faces, Animals, "The Who Sings My Generation," and more. The old rockabilly heroes: Eddie Cocharan, Gene Vincent, Cliff Gallup, Buddy Holly, Johnny Burnette's Rock and Roll Trio, and, of course, Elvis! Our favorites hepcats of the past few years: Ronnie Dawson, the Lennerockers, Jack Baymoore and the Bandits, Sleepy LaBeef, and Hayden Thompson. Country: Johnny Cash and Buck Owens. Doo Wop: we love it. Dion rules! Polka: Yes, we love Frankie Yankovic! Folk: Tom Paxton, Limelighters, Kingston Trio, and the Smothers Brothers. Others from the fifties and sixties: The Beach Boys, Gary U.S. Bonds, Jan and Dean, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons More recent faves: Jonathan Richman, Dave Edmunds, Richard Lloyd (contact us if you've attended one of his concerts.),and Johnny Thunders during his lucid moment(s). Sounds Like: We'd like to think we sound like Eddie Cochran, Jonathan Richman, or Johnny Cash fronting the Beatles circa 1964. Do you agree? Record Label: G-Tone Records Type of Label: Indie |
