Or Download it via ITUNES Brownbird Rudy Relic is a Vegan Straight-Edge Chicano blues musician and a purveyor the Holler Blues; a synthesis of pre and post - war blues influences with an emphasis on emotive minimalism. His music, his blues, were born in the juke , literally. In the living rooms and basements of punk rock house shows to the subway platforms of the subterranean world of New York City. His songs owe as much to the poetry of Plath and Neruda as they do to the pumping anomalous holler of Charley Patton or the Ragtime infused hokum of the Bluebird beat; as much allegiance to the street corner serenades of long lost Doo Wop as they do to the grandiose drama of Mexican romantic ballads by artists such as Vicente Fernandez . |
