The often over looked music scene of the south west is alive and kicking. The seaside towns where most people take their vacations are breeding a new kind of movement. Bands are being born that don't care for the mainstream, bands that are writing real songs about growing up in these tourist towns, about the beach parties and the lifestyle. A summer time vibe that fuses reggae, ska, punk and acoustic flavours. Surf roots as it's becoming known may have a certain Californian vibe to it, but these days it is certainly a worldwide scene. Here in the UK we have our own evolving scene. Bands like Captain Bud, King Tuts Revenge and The North Coast Project are all having more and more success in the surf and skate scene of the South West and nationwide. Pipeline Records has been around for 5 years promoting local talent and acts from around the world here in the UK. In the last 2 years the UK movement has picked up pace. US Bands like Slightly Stoopid, Pepper and The Beautiful Girls have all visited our shores and all have plans to return. Our bands too are having much success and building the scene not just here in the UK but worldwide! The mainstream UK music scene is dominated by the same old indie bands, euro pop and screaming emo disaster bands. We feel it's about time we all supported something real. The UK surf roots scene mixes styles from Punk to Hip Hop to Blues all with a dub reggae undertone, but most of all its about having a kick ass time, so get yourself down to a show and skank it up. We only really use this MySpace as an easy way to contact our bands, but we do occasionaly put out press releases and info on bands so keep checking and of course check out our bands below !
