| L'Eixample de Barcelona un 22 de diciembre de 1976.David gets into the world of Blues after attending Al Copley’s performance in Barcelona in 1993. His first influences were the old records of Rock and Roll. When he was 14, he started to buy some records of the most important piano players of Blues & Boogie Woogie as Memphis Slim, Pete Johnson, Jay Mcshann. Immediately he acquired his first piano.He learned to play piano by himself and started to play at private parties in front of some friends with piano solo performances. Later, he takes part in many Jams Sessions in Barcelona Blues scene, where his first band of Blues, The Hipsters, arises. Nowadays David collaborates and plays with several local bands as Tota Blues, Mr. Hot Pocket Blues, The Black Cats, Predicador Ramirez, Lazy Jumpers, Blue Heart, The Walking Stick Man, Acoustic Blues Company, etc.His most important appareances has been at: Cazorla Blues Festival (2004/2007), Almería Blues Festival (2005/2006), Nou Barris Blues Festival (2004), Cerdanyola Blues Festival (2004/2006), Cicle de Blues & Boogie de L’H (2005/2006/2007), Rock & Roll Festival “Screamin” in Calella (2006), Boogie Woogie Jubilee (2007), Boogie Woogie Reunion (2008), and various events as parties, meetings, conferences, etc. He has been playing with the Blues legend Louisiana Red and with Janis Martin. In 2007 David released his first Cd as a leader, “Rambling with my Boogie” and now is introducing it all over Spain. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Se introduce en el mundo del Blues a raíz de presenciar la actuación del pianista norteamericano Al Copley en 1993, aunque antes sus influencias ya provenían del Rock and Roll a través de unos viejos recopilatorios que rondaban por su casa.No es hasta finales de los 90 cuando funda su primera banda de Blues "The Hipsters", donde actua con cierta asiduidad en el circuito barcelonés.Seguidamente se incorpora a Mr. Hot Pocket Blues y poco después a Tota Blues.En la actualidad David Giorcelli independientemente de su trio colabora con diversos proyectos entre ellos: Predicador Ramírez, The Walking Stick Man, Los Gatos Negros, Conferencia con Manolo López Poy sobre el Blues y la Novela Negra, dúo acústico con el legendario Profesor Merchán.........A colaborado con bandas de ámbito local como The Midnight Rockets, Blue Heart, Lazy Jumpers, Acoustic Blues Company y a día de hoy lidera su propio proyecto "David Giorcelli Trío" donde recientemente editó el que es su primer disco en solitario, "Rambling with my boogie" junto a Lluís Salvador al contrabajo y Josep Bruguera a la batería.Tiene la oportunidad de participar en Festivales del género por todo el país como son el de Cazorla (Jaén) , Almería, Marbella, Cerdanyola, Nou Barris (Ahora Barcelona), Cicle de Blues i Boogie de l'Hospitalet, Screamin de Calella, Boogie Woogie Jubilee de L'Hospitalet, Boogie Reunion de Terrassa... también en salas emblématicas como Black Note de Valencia, Bogui Jazz de Madrid, La Alquitara de Béjar (Salamanca), Bluesville de Palma de Mallorca, L'angel Blau de Andorra, Nova Jazz Cava de Terrassa en especial London bar y Bel.luna Jazz Club ambos de Barcelona.........Graba junto a Los Tota Blues el que es su cuarto disco "Crazy'bout the Blues", junto a Los Lazy Jumpers en dos ocasiones junto a "Little Rachel" y "Rocky Burnette", y junto a Predicador Ramírez "Prisas y Pausas", también recientemente junto a Lluís Coloma y The Walking Stick Man.Tiene la oportunidad de acompañar a artistas internacionales a su paso por Barcelona como Louisiana Red o Janis Martin. Además de compartir escenarios en jams y otro tipo de acontecimientos con gente de la talla de Julian Vaughn, Hook Herrera, Al Copley, Anke Angel, o la Mississippi Heat de Chicago. | |
