| Simona Costantino (SIMO COSTA), who was born in Massa (Tuscany,IT), graduated in classical guitar at the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato "P. Mascagni"(LI) and works as teacher and in performances; she played in various chamber music groups, with symphonic orchestras and also in a particular orchestra called "Guitar Symphonietta" of Florence made by guitars only, but she dedicated herself to the musical repertoire for guitar duo, playing with her husband Roberto Masini, and studied with passion the compositions of the Contemporary era and, specially, of the great musician Astor Piazzolla and tha Latin-American area.When she was eleven years old, she begun composing songs singin' and accompanying herself with the classical guitar, listening to all music, from italian and american songwriters to country, jazz, blues....with particular reference to Joni Mitchell, and using the English language in most of her songs. In the last years Simona improved her vocal technique at the "Umbria jazz 1998",Berklee College summer master classes, with Donna McElroy and at the "Siena jazz 98-99" annual master classes with Fabrizia Barresi. She also studied basic elements of jazz harmony as she is really keen on standards jazz and jazz musicians ( and specially on the pianist Bill Evans); anyway her compositions and her way of singing are a "fusion" of various types of music. Simona also recorded and published a CD, that she produced by herself, called "Blocks of Mood" that contains 14 songs,all for voice and guitar, except "Let the music play 1" with the jazz pianist Leo Ravera. She has been national finalist at "Concorso Musica Controcorrente 2006", national semifinalist at "Risonanze Unplugged 2006" (see www.roxyteam.it), regional finalist for Tuscany at " Primo Maggio Tutto l'anno 2007" with the song Road to nowhere and national finalist at "Bologna Music Festival 2007". (www.bolognamusicfestival.it). On September 2007, her song "Road to nowhere" has also been selected to be transmitted on "DEMO"-RAI RADIO 1, a competition on the italian national radio. Music:Member Since: 4/25/2007Band Website: xoomer.alice.it/simocosta Band Members: Influences: Simo live Aggiungi al profilo personale | Altri video Sounds Like: SE VUOI SENTIRE "ROAD TO NOWHERE" CERCA SIMONA COSTANTINO E CLICCA SU DEMO EVENTO_____________________________LUGLIO 2007: FINALMENTE (dopo qualche anno di lavoro) E' USCITO IL MIO PRIMO CD DAL TITOLO:"BLOCCHI DI MOOD" - "BLOCKS OF MOOD"--(registrato da Studio Vinile di Marco Baracchino)C'è un progetto un pò particolare...diciamo crossover..Ci sono tanti...mood.Ci sono 16 tracce...c'è Simo... una chitarra, una voce, canzoni originali e anche no...ci sono frammenti solo strumentali..ed alcuni suoni (pochissimi!!) presi in prestito dal computer!C'è Leo Ravera, un raffinato pianista jazz ( io adoro il jazz!!) che mi accompagna in un mio pezzo...Per ora il cd è reperibile solo nella mia città, ma mi sto organizzando!_____________________________________________RE CENSIONE DEL CD SU "LA NAZIONE"-------AGO 2007: ...Un CD che emoziona... un mix fra voce e sei corde che fa venire i brividi........prima alcuni accenni di jazz,un pò di blues e qualche frammento latino. Poi si scatena il ritmo. E subito dopo, introdotte da un preludio di Villa-Lobos, arrivano quattro perle di rara bellezza, una dietro l'altra. "No more solitude", "One more day", "Sun will shine again", "Nocturno".
