| This is a portrait of a quilter. This quilter – who has authored 4 books, teaches internationally, and at this moment is most likely out of town, is well known for a background quilting stitch called, McTavishing. In the tattoo and quilting world, this is a very big deal – to be known for something that is generally very traditional and restrictive to the outside world. To have anything named after you – in a traditional genre –its a major deal – but for me – I would have preferred say – “Karen McTavish” – the innovator of the female hard core scream death-metal sound in today’s rock industry….but no….quilter it is! God gave me the gift of quilting.
