| Dreams; Every artist has them. But what separates a dream from purpose? For Daphne, the difference is in those dreams coming to fruition. By the time Daphne was old enough to clutch a bottle in her hands, she was opening her uniqely-crafted vocal chords to craft God-inspired melodies. As time progressed, and she entered into elementary school, those melodies would soon turn to songs, and she would soon discover that those songs were the doorway to a purpose far beyond anything she could have imagined. Influenced by several different styles of music, from the quintessential sounds of classical, to the rhythmic pop music of the early nineties to the swing sructure of contemporary jazz, Daphne was surrounded by different forms of the art. Her father, being a multi-instrumentalist and music instructor himself, was also a large influence on her early on and throughout her life. After winning several competitions throughout high school and elementary school, and with her family's support, Daphne decided to enroll in college as a vocal major, where she further cultivated her blossoming skills as a vocalist. While there, her vocal abilities soon landed her a place in the school's top tier of vocalists, performing with symphony orchestras doing solos, and representing the universities small group of top singers. While attending a special event for the school, Daphne got word that a record producer was among the audience and wanted to speak to her, and that producer was none other than singer, songwriter and producer David Verity. She soon received a call from David that transformed her dreams into purpose, as he expressed a serious interest in working together. Now, Daphne is currently David's primary artist and vocal protegee, and is in the process of completing her debut album. With a pristinely clear 4+ octave range, the ability to sing in multiple languages, and vocal acrobatics that would command the attention of the most astute soul singer, there is no doubt that for this artist, purpose is clear; and her purpose is to share God's gift of an amazing voice with the whole world. |
