| 50ft Panda are / were a 2 piece instrumental rock band based in Oxford with 2 records to their name. Now on hiatus due to various travelling things and both leaving Oxford it seems the days of the Panda are over. However Chris and I will hopefully do some more stuff together at some point but what and when is a mystery. Cheers to anyone who ever came to see us play, we've had an shit load of fun over the last 2 years.
So go and check out the EPs, both of which are available from the excellent www.tootingbizarre.org. and also delve into all the other superb albums available for download on there. Particularly, might I say, the Olid EP which features members of 50ft Panda, Mayors of Miyazaki and Thumpermonkey Lives!. Have a good 2009 people, maybe see you in 2010. A cover of 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' is available on the iTunes Store as part of BBC Radio Oxfords 'Quantum of Covers' project in which 11 local Oxford bands have written and recorded covers of Bond themes and all the money goes to Children In Need. |
