| All We've Become .. Add to My Profile | More VideosI am an old school thrasher that listens to Metal from the seventies and early eightees. I'm into Sabbath, Motorhead, Deep Purple and all the killer old stuff. Motorhead and Slayer dominate my stereo, when I find the time at home. I'm regularly on the road as a Tour-Manager or a Merchandiser for www.bruchstein-tours.de in Germany, and just finished the Testament tour. So things are kind of slow at the moment. I usually spend the summer doing various festivals with Master as I wait for the fall season to begin.. The new CD Slaves To Society will be released on May 11th under the Twilight moniker. Reviewer: Adam Lee Date: 07/05/07Master returns with eleven tracks of raw, pure, ultra heavy Death Metal. Slaves To Society is an old school, riff-heavy, no nonsense outing from a band that has mastered such material. The songs are tightly constructed with little in the way of filler. While the sound is definitely of the old school, the songs sound fresh and unique. The riffs are appealing and with a sense of frenzy. This is an album sure to satisfy Master's fan base.The vocals are filled with a senseless rage and are spouted with lightning quickness at times. Speckmann genuinely seems angry and at times scary. They don't seem to be as deep as on earlier outings. I suspect this is intentional. There's a rawness to them, making them not as clear as before, but perhaps even more brutal. I must say that they are among my favorites of any Speckmann material.Nejezchleba's guitar work is quite terrific. The riffs are quite awe-inspiring. Heavy, usually fast and not at all boring. The more mid-paced songs are supplied with some very interesting, heavy and nice sounding riffage. Particularly "The Darkest Age" which has some very rhythmic riffs accompanied by nice drums. The drums as a whole are quite good. Furious, but very clean sounding beats.I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't mention the cover art. Naked women, one of which is blowing a demon with a sword in his hand. That's metalOverall, Slaves To Society is an excellent example of Old School Death Metal that reminds you why ya got into the music to begin with. The songs are consistently brutal and furious with no let up, but also not at all repetitive or stale. This is an excellent example of what the traditional death metal formula can do when performed by an excellent group of musicians and presented with good production. |

Music:I suppose I am an old school Thrasher as I am still listening to old classic stuff like Saxon, Angel Witch and all the early eightees stuff. We actually played our biggest Warcry show with Twisted Sister as the headliner and Queensreich as support on the release of Queeensreich's first ep. After hanging with Dee Snider I learned a lot about the business as we discussed this, and the rest is history as they say. Some of Dee's comments support the reason why I am still in Metal still today. |
