| I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4My name is BillyJon and I am a singer/songwriter from Swindon UK. I was born in Limerick, Ireland in 1982 into a relatively un-musical family, although I would later discover that my Grandfather was an accomplished singer specialising in the words and music of Sinatra, Martin and the great Matt Monroe. He was probably one of my earliest inspirations.I started writing music when I was 13, granted I wrote a lot of shite back then, but everyone has to start somewhere. I remember playing in a couple of bands at school, one was predominantly an Oasis cover band, and another was notably called ‘Giant African Land Snails’…ahh the memories.Over the years I have probably written hundreds of songs, but there are only a few that I am ‘happy’ with. There are songs that I’ve forgotten for a reason that will never see the light of day, but then there are songs that I sing everyday and repeatedly play at my shows.I don’t really want to say too much about the music/songs that I write as I believe they speak for themselves.At the beginning of 2007, I managed to piece together my band consisting of Dan Lane (Guitar), Ben Morris (Bass) and Sam Begdouri (Drums). At this moment in time we’ve only played one show together but hopefully many more await us in the coming months. In the meantime, Dan and I will consistently rock out on our acoustics.We’re due to go into the studio very soon to record the debut EP, but for now whilst we rehearse and prepare, listen to the songs and if you like them, come to one of the upcoming gigs.Your drink is on the bar…. |
