| The Silverfish CD release Show May 9th 2008!
Pop/Rock/Soul music. We have recently played multiple shows for ShoeshineBoy Production at The Cubby Bear, Frankies Blue Room, Goose Island Brewery and The Pontiac Bar and Grill. We have also recently shared the stage with: Air This Side of Caution, Soulfix, Dave Tampkin, We the Living, Company of Thieves, Painkiller Hotel and Seven Day Run. Inspiration and Songs The Silverfish is the moniker/band name for Stan Dembowski, the writer of the songs you are about to hear. Stan is from the Chicagoland area and writes music with hints of funksouljazzblues into sing-able, dance-able pop music. “My music comes from a cumulative blend of the 50’s through 2008 without a direct link to any one particular genre.” Stan has spent the last 12 years writing music with various bands: Metal, Alternative, Americana, Neo-Soul, Alt-Country and now, The Silverfish. Concentrating solely on hooks and strong melodies, this music is equally accessible to all listeners and lives somewhere in the pop music genre. The Band The Silverfish band has been performing together for 3 years. The band members are all veterans of the Chicago music scene and have been brought together by the love of this music. Bass player Manny Vasquez has an intuitive ability to fill in the low end and fits into each song playing with an almost psychic insight to Stan’s songwriting vision. Mike Amadei is the motivator and drummer who adds the perfect pop-rock-funk beats to drive this music forward. Saxophonist Joe Vajarsky and keyboardist David Spethmann’s classic sounds of sax, piano and Rhodes twists these modern crafty pop tunes into a sound that feels both familiar yet fresh. |
