| My name is Jo Anne. You can call me Jo or Jojo. People say I don't "look or act like a Joanne," whatever that means. lol I love to dance -- any kind -- though Polynesian is my passion. Grew up in O.C., but moved to L.A. for work (court reporting for the State). I've danced professionally with Dance Attack (jazz) in Newport Beach for 13 years, then Tiare Productions (Polynesian) for a little over 11 years, and now I'm teaching Tahitian at UCLA. I may be up there in age, but you're only as old as you feel...or act. *;)My most recent adventures are becoming a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant and starting my own small business, HULA KITTY ENTERPRISES. | What interests me? Spreading the TRUE spirit of Aloha, not just the "fun at a luau" type.What do I dream of? A world of possibility. What possibility? The possibility of FULL self-expression, love and fulfillment. I participated in a program called the Landmark Forum at an early age. It impacted my life so tremendously that I couldn't imagine my life not having done the Forum. From it, I was able to clear the past out of my present (and therefore my future), so that I am left with a clear, open future...like a blank canvas, a future where I can create ANYTHING I want (full self-expression, love and fulfillment to name a few). Heroes:In no particular order: Leilani Lybbert (my childhood hula teacher), Abraham Lincoln, JFK, MLK, Gandhi, my brothers Jim & Bill for teaching me valuable lessons in life, my parents for letting me be me and always providing for us kids and bringing us up to be good adults, the teachers I've had throughout my education, and my friends. All through life I've learned lessons from each and don't know what I'd be today without having the privilege of "knowing" them all.A big "mahalo nui loa" to my hubby-bubby, the Pizza Man, for inspiring me to be the best I can and for bringing the warm, fuzzy contentment that I have with him in my life. |
