Lichtschrei is the experimental avant-garde music project of Schahram Poursoudmand. Under the sign of Lichtschrei, Schahram realizes his extravagant artistic visions of sound art in the beauty of disintegration, deconstruction and imaginary ghostlike non-existence. In his very own unusual style and expression to create sound, music, digital image art and lyric poetry, Schahram composes here impressive music- and soundworlds of strange beauty, unique aesthetics and special characteristics. A surreal mystery of bizarre soundforms and –structures, self-begotten, decomposed up to shapelessness and arisen by further deformation and destruction. Music and Sound from another world - of an unknown place - from an unknown time.
S H I N E SHINE is a sub-project of Lichtschrei in which Schahram developed the concept album "inthecentre". For the recordings of "inthecentre" sounds and music were edited until they collapsed destructed in itself and new unreal soundscapes had arisen. Impressive soundsculptures rise, unfold themselves, are demolished and built up again. The vocals are not based upon lyrics. No real language exists. Schahram sings here in a kind of "phantom language" which is an integral part of the whole and creates with the music a deep, magical atmosphere. Lichtspiele - mental movies and the music evoked in the head merges into an organic unity. The listener dives in cinematic, dynamic sound-layers, -corridors and -shafts. To listen, to feel and to see up into the centre of the sound. The tracks "biomechanics" and "theprimitivecreature" are musically realized compositions to the images "the shiner" & "the primitive creature" of the Swiss artist H.R. Giger whose work inspired Schahram during the album process very much. "Inthecentre" is timeless. An experimental, impressive work. Unique in its sound being.
