| Hi, I'm Julia, nice to meet you.I've posted a few samples of the work on my website. I have experience shooting fashion, portraiture, editorial, fine art, and photojournalism. I've relocated to NYC. I have collaborated with make-up artists, hair stylists, fashion designers, magazine editors, and assistants to coordinate and execute shoots to meet and exceed my clients' expectations.In March of 2005, I was the organizer of Rochester's first Western NY Model Shoot Out with over two dozen models, photographers, make-up artists, and assistants in attendance (including one on one work shops with photographers and models where I shared my techniques to improve their work and offered my perspective on shooting glamour and fashion). I also have experience doing make-up application for many fashion and glamour shoots in Rochester and New York City. My work has been published in various magazines, including Nirvana Woman, Gannett owned The Insider, and Eye on Saratoga. I worked with Waterstreet Music Hall, Rochester's premier venue for musicians of all mediums. I have recently shot for such internationally renowned musicians as Paramore, Rise Against, Blue Oyster Cult, Mike Doughty, and many, many more. In June of 2007 I completed a tour of Mississippi documenting academic author Daniel Beaumont's research on legendary blues musician Son House. I was also assistant editor of Dr. Beaumont's documentary on blues musician Joe Beard in 2005. In August I had the honor of photographing former president Bill Clinton for the Monroe County Democratic Committee's fundraiser on behalf of Hillary Rodham Clinton. My passion and life’s work is photography, I am eager to grow as an artist and continue to learn and perfect my craft to consistently push myself in creating dynamic and beautiful images. say what? |
