NAT MAIKOKII Multicultural Austrian/Argentine Reggae from Linz, Upper Austria Founded in 2006, the eight Austrian and Argentine musicians known as NAT MAIKOKII have been interpreting modern Reggae combined with much musical aptitude and as such have made the genre appropriate for the 21st century. Additionally, NAT MAIKOKII successfully neglects any aesthetical and musical clichés. Thus, with advanced improvisational skills NAT MAIKOKII incorporates elements of south American music, modern Jazz and other genres into a surprising and unique way. You can hardly stay untouched by NAT MAIKOKII’s sound - neither on your I-Pod nor live on stage. The lyrics written by the musicians Fatima El Kosht und Francisco Perez Mazon from Buenos Aires are highly emotional and impressive and, supported by exciting Reggae beats, they form the basis of a fascinating musical process of communication and improvisation. As a “Tour du Monde” the band playfully arranges multilingual lyrics incorporating the English, Spanish, French and Portuguese language(s).
