About Me

Governor Beachie was born in Bath St. Thomas, Jamaica. His career was inspired by Admiral Bailey and Shabba Ranks. Governor Beachies first big exposure came in 1987 when he won first place at the JCDC Pop and Variety Parish finals. From then, he has been doing shows in and out of St. Thomas. He is making his presence felt in his community, DJ-ing on his area sound "Extacy Disco" and other sounds which play in the area from time to time. He also performed on Reggae Cable, a show hosted by Bagga Brown. Other performances have been at the weekly Ghetto Splach in Seaforth, and shows at other locations such as Bath Primary and Junior Hall and Stokes Hall Secondary. Governor Beachie's first recording was "Gun Thing" in 1992. This was a song encouraging the youths to put down the guns. Since then he has recorded "Scream Out" which he also did for Gary G and his latest "Beat Yu Chest". He is expecting "Beat Yu Chest" to do a lot for him. His first performance as a recording artist was in Clarendon in 1993 on the "Reggae in the Hills" show at Crofts Hill. He along with Theo B who hails from the same community, opened the second segment of the show and had the crowd rocking as they set the stage for other big names like Jack Radic, Tinga Stewart, Terry Ganzie, Lady Saw and a host of others. He was a true Governor, delivering top class performance that was able to have the crowd responding to everything he did and said. The Governor is now working on his second album "Beachie Beachie". His first single "Beachie Beachie" is currently banging on the underground waves. Its sure to leave 'them crying for Beachie!!'. He's also is working with Joe Sinclair from the group Small Axe. Sinclair has been a great inspiration to the Governor.I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
