| I live in Texas in a northern suburb of Dallas. I love blues music…all blues music and I know there’s a lot of folks out there just like me. My real reason for being here is to hook up with these folks, and, so far I’ve been fortunate enough to meet and become “friends” with a number of blues artists, blues music associations, internet and local radio stations and DJ’s, magazines and their publishers, and folks just like me who just genuinely love the music.I began playing an old guitar my brother bought for eight dollars at a garage sale when I was ten and played in numerous local R & B, rock n roll, and blues bands. I even did some time in a C & W band. I retired from the road for health and age reasons, a condition otherwise known as Old Fart Syndrome. So now I have a real job and had plans to retire from it, too. Unfortunately, when the economy went in to the toilet, so did my plans for retirement. I have to keep working to support my last great addiction, the one habit I will never kick...blues music. So now, I spend a lot of time traveling between DFW and Austin to see a lot of great blues players and collecting their music. There is certainly an abudance of extremely talented folks out there. It's easy for me to identify with the late Clifford Antone's sentiment when he stated, "I can play the blues but I'd rather just listen". | |
