When people talk about what started in a kitchen, they are usually referring to culinary dreams and delights. What started in a small kitchen in Ranchos de Taos has nothing to do with pastries, but everything to do with music and frienship What started in the small kitchen was Friday Night Kills, a pop punk band consisting of: Elijah Helt (vocals), Manuel Cardenas (vocals/guitar), Johnny Ortiz (bass), Andrew Mascarenas (guitar), and Dave Sisneros (drums). It was in early October of 2006 when they first started gathering in the kitchen. While most bands start out playing covers, the boys of Friday Night Kills jumped right into creating and writing their own music. As the boys practiced, stuffed into Dave’s small kitchen, they began to grow together as musicians and their music became stronger and more defined. The music created by Friday Night Kills is not the brainchild of just one member, it is the creation of each member working together to create a blend of modern punk melodrama and humor.
