| BACKSTORY: ARIANNA SYKES grew up in Raleigh, NC and produced mostly keyboard-driven, dark, experimental music and occasionally performing in parks and gardens with Charity, a fire dancer/fellow keyboardist, and other friends. In the fall of 2000, she bought an old Kay acoustic/electric guitar and moved to Atlanta with vocalist ADEEBA LODHI. Together they produced and performed as TERAVIOLES until 2003. In 2005, Ari changed to an organic, blues-based approach (with much improv), and started performing at Kirkwood Baller's Club (then at Lenny's) where she had the habit of collecting a band at the event, just before playing. This was the basis for "found objects of desire," referring to the performers and instruments..........MAIN BIO: In 2007 Arianna met MELISSA LONELY (Kiwis, Small Framed Boy) and they created the band FOUND OBJECTS of DESIRE, with a self-titled album released later that year (distro: Ashton Velvet Rock Club/Recording Co). and intertwines several urban/rural narratives with raw acoustic guitar, odd percussion, reverb, and various other "superstars of the new wierd south." The second album, "Altamaha" (named after an eastern Georgia river), was recorded through 2008, exploring their experimental folk side with cello by Becca B. and multiple vocal layers. In late 2008, Adeeba and guitarist/uke-arist NAOMI LAVENDER joined...followed by lots of shows and sessions! This began a path toward darker, thicker, noisy rock which will be their third album, "Woven by Widows." In early 2009, Becca departed and guitarist LYNLEE HEALY joined. Current core group is Arianna, Melissa, and Lynlee. Performances can involve as few as 2 or as many as 6, and sound varies depending on venue and "objects" involved.
