Inspiriert vom Leben selbst erzählt Andrea Selby ohne großes Versteckspiel, manchmal sogar mit einer gewissen Offensichtlichkeit, von den Dingen, die uns allen täglich begegnen. Sie singt von der Liebe, von Freundschaft, vom Hin und Her zwischen den Menschen, von der Schwierigkeit, sich zurecht zu finden zwischen Vermutungen und Erkenntnissen, Zufällen und Lügen, Kalkulationen und Gewissensbissen. Und immer wieder hören wir die Suche nach der Wahrheit heraus, in diesem Gewirr aus Frühlingsduft und welkem Laub. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------- Inspired by life itself, Andrea Selby tells sometimes quite directly, about things we come across in everyday life. She sings about love, friendship, the back and forth between people, the difficulties to find ones way through realizations & expectations, coincidences & lies, calculations & remorses. And again and again we hear her search for the truth in this mix between the fresh scents of spring and the wilted leaves of autumn. Andrea, Jahrgang 80, lebt seit 2002 als Singer-Songwriterin in Hamburg. Von klein auf hat sie Spaß am Musizieren & entdeckt als Jugendliche ihr Talent zum Singen. Sie probiert sich in verschiedenen Projekten musikalisch aus und experimentiert mit unterschiedlichen Stilen, während sich ihr eigener mit Anfang 20 immer mehr zu formen scheint. Die Lust am eigenen Songwriting steigt und es werden fortan eigene Songs geschrieben und diese mit der Band "Edda's Creek" bundesweit in zahlreichen Shows auf die Bühne gebracht. Unter anderem gewinnt Andrea mit "Edda's Creek" den regionalen Vorentscheid zum Triebwerk Festival 2001 (NRW) und spielt sich ins Finale nach Bochum. 2002 trennt sich die Band und Andrea zieht es in's schöne Hamburg. Im folgenden Jahr nimmt sie am Finale des national ausgeschriebenen Singer-Songwriter-Wettbewerbs der Sängerakademie Hamburg teil und beginnt weitere 2,5 Jahre später zusammen mit einem erfahrenen Produzenten-Duo aus Hamburg mit den Aufnahmen zu ihrem ersten Album "Fire Fields", welches sie im August 2007 in ihren Händen hält. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------- Andrea, born 1980, has lived since 2002 as a singer/songwriter in Hamburg, Germany. Since childhood she loves music & discovered her talent for singing in her early days. She spent a few years trying out varied musical projects and experimenting with contrasting styles. By her early 20’s she began to develop a style of her own. Her growing passion for song writing lead to the creation of newly inspired songs which were performed during numerous countrywide stage shows with the Band, “Edda’s Creek”. Amongst other things, Andrea, with the band, “Edda’s Creek”, won the preliminary round of the Triebwerk Festival 2001 (NWR) and performed in the final in Bochum. In 2002 the band split up and Andrea moved to the beautiful city of Hamburg. In the following year she participated in the nationally organized Singer/Songwriter Contest sponsored by the Singing Academy Hamburg. Two-and-a-half years later she began working with an experienced production company in Hamburg on her first album called "Fire Fields", which has been brought to an end in Summer 2007. |
