Nati a meta’ degli anni ’90 in provincia di Agrigento i LAMENTU musicheranno le atmosfere ritualistiche di quei luoghi con un feroce black/death/thrash con influenze afro/tribali cantate in dialetto siculo e con una antica lingua africana per meglio evocare la magia del continente ’nero’ per eccellenza. Tutto il concept della band ruota attorno alla figura demoniaca e mitologica di Liack-Aru. Un concentrato di rituali voodoo, magia nera e violenti riff metallici faranno dei Lamentu una della band piu’ originali della scena mediterranea. In quegli anni, prima del debut-cd, rilasciarono due demo tape: ’Erva Tinta’ del 1998 e ’Aggrissu’ 1999 che scuoterono il panorama estremo europeo raccogliendo pareri positivi ed entustiastici. Nel 2001 per INCH Productions/Audioglobe esce il debut-cd ’Liack’. Straordinari momenti musicali sono racchiusi da nomi quali ’Animalura’, ’Pilunia’ ’Vuv’. Nel 2005 esce un demo dal titolo ’NiurAfrica’ che confermera’ l’alta capacita’ creativa della band, ascoltate ’Inscika’, ’Senza Firucia’ o la bellissima ’Vegghia’. Nel 2007 partecipano alla cd-compilation della Mediterranean Scene con un brano dal titolo ’Ammatula’. |
