Myspace Layouts - Image Hosting - Comments Tierradentro is a musical group that began in 1996, Since then its members have been dedicated to investigate and play music from all regions of Colombia. They have taken their music to more than 15 countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Among their records, there are two albums dedicated to Colombian traditional music. It wasn’t until 2006 when Tierradentro launched their first record with songs completely written by the band defining their own style and sound. In 2008, Tierradentro recorded it last album “Rumba Colombiana” with special guest Petrona Martinez, reaching a mature and exquisite sound.
Se quiere desbarata and Rumba Colombiana are two albums where their respect for traditional styles in Colombian music can be noted as well as their effort in enriching Colombian folk music with key ingredients from Cuban and jazz styles.
Tierradentro gives the listener the possibility of traveling from coast to coast in Colombia. On the one band, they transmit the joy and flavor of afro-colombian rhythms; on the other band, they surpise the audience by playing a jazz style out of a traditional Colombian tune. They have added their own brand of magic to our traditional musical styles in order for all audiences to enjoy our Colombian folklore.

Nació en 1.996 con el propósito de acompañar al 1er elenco del ballet folklórico de Antioquia. desde entonces sus músicos se han dedicado a investigar y a tocar música de todas las regiones de Colombia y la han llevado a más de 15 países de Europa y América. En su discografía se aprecian 2 trabajos de folclor tradicional, solo hasta el año 2006 tierradentro lanzó su primer disco con canciones inéditas, marcando así un estilo y un sonido propio.
En su trabajo se nota el respeto por lo tradicional, pero también el arrojo de enriquecer este sonido con ingredientes de músicas como la cubana y el jazz. Tierradentro viaja de costa a costa, robándose la alegría y el sabor de los ritmos afro-colombianos, pero también puede sorprender con un pasillo fiestero interpretado al estilo de un quinteto de jazz. Tierradentro es rumba, sabor, chirimía y fandango, es magia y virtuosismo, es un viaje por lo mejor de nuestra música Colombiana. |
