El grupo se forma en Barcelona a principios del 2006, tras el largo trabajo de Francesco, cantante y guitarrista italiano, que armado de un portátil, de una tarjeta de sonido y de mucha gana de dar vida a un proyecto nuevo, estuvo encerrado en su estudio por más de un año componiendo canciones nuevas.
Al proyecto se le unen batería, bajo y guitarra, mas los sonidos disparados por el ordenador. Sus integrantes proceden de diferentes lugares del mundo dando así un sonido diferente, poderoso y roots. También se amolda a las situaciones de la ciudad de Barcelona, dando actuaciones en versión acústica con muy buen recibimiento del público.Con un nombre como este la banda quiere celebrar la importancia del movimiento, del viaje y de la mezcla de personas y culturas, principio mismo del encuentro de sus componentes en el fecundo entorno del Raval.El grupo dispone de una maqueta titulada: “Barrio santo part one”, y está en proceso de producción su primer álbum.
La banda participa también en el recopilatorio “Mariatchi Boogie”, editado por Manu Chao y el bar Mariatchi con el tema “Le piccole cose”y en “Espensaharaui” CD solidario para el pueblo del Sahara, con mas de 23 grupos de Europa y Latinoamérica, producido por Che Sudaka y Espai jova Les Corts.
Durante el 2007 actuaron en diferentes sitios y ciudades llevando la música reggae en todas sus formas.La banda ha sido envitada a tocar también a MTV y Radio Popolare (Milano, Italia), como ejemplo de música callejera en Barcelona. Myspace Editor Pimp MySpace ENGLISH: The group formed in Barcelona at the beginning of 2006 after much hard work on the part of Francesco, Italian singer/guitarist. Armed with a laptop, an audio-interface and heaps of enthusiasm he shut himself away in his studio for over a year, writing new songs for the upcoming project, later to add drums, bass, guitar and computer samplers to the band’s overall acoustic. The members come from widespread areas of the globe, lending the music roots and a certain power, as well as the ability to adapt to the diverse situations offered by a city such as Barcelona. With the band’s name calling to mind the idea of road travel (it owes its title to the word “bus” in three different Hispanic dialects), it wishes to celebrate the importance of movement, journey and the mixing of peoples and cultures; precisely the phenomena which gave rise to the members’ meeting in the first place, in the rich environs of the Raval neighbourhood. Microguagua has a demo called “Barrio Santo Part One” and is currently in the process of producing its first album. They also feature in the compilation “Mariatchi Boogie”, produced by Manu Chao and the Mariatchi team, with their song “Le Piccole Cose” and have contributed, along with 23 other groups from Europe and Latin America, to “Espensaharahui”, a charity CD produced by Che Sudaka and Espai Jove Les Corts whose proceeds go to the cause of the people of Western Sahara. During the past year Microguagua has brought reggae music in its various forms to a wide range of European cities and its platform just keeps on growing. Most recently the group has been invited to perform both at MTV and Radio Popular, Milan, proving it indeed to be one of the most vibrant and mobile examples of street music to be found today in Barcelona. |
