The "Bruskers Guitar Trio" are Giorgio Borgatti, Matteo Minozzi, and Eugenio Polacchini. They came to life in the year 2003, when they took part in the Ferrara Buskers Festival for the first time. The main feature of this ensemble is the mixture of the different musical guidelines the three musicians share and combine in this experience. Even thought they all begun to love the guitar during the earlier years of their lives, they developped extremely different styles because of their various musical interests. While Eugenio personifies the rigourness and the carefulness of classical music (he got a degree in classical guitar at the Conservatorio di Carpi), Giorgio shows the artistic flair and the unconventionality of contemporary music, Matteo instead embodies a fusion of these two streams. Bruskers' repertoire embraces traditional jazz and bossa nova standards, pop songs and personal compositions. All pieces are rearranged from a smart and modern point of view. The three also teach at the Music School of the Unione dei Comuni Modenesi Area Nord, besides they play in the Lybra Guitar Orchestra together with students and teachers of the same school. The Bruskers are not only musicians, they all chose to study at the Università di Bologna: Eugenio studies Scienze della Comunicazione, Giorgio attends the DAMS (music speciality), and Matteo works as a chemist at the Facoltà di Chimica Industriale. At the beginning busking was the main interest of the trio. They played during several street festivals in Italy as well as in München and Salzburg. In the last few years they have been looking for more intimate atmospheres: they performed at art exhibitions, theatre shows, private events...La formazione dei Bruskers, costituita da Giorgio Borgatti, Matteo Minozzi ed Eugenio Polacchini, compie i primi passi nel 2003 partecipando al Buskers Festival di Ferrara. Peculiarità di questo trio di chitarre, formazione di per sé non inusuale, è l’idea di accostare tre differenti stili musicali risultanti dalle esperienze maturate dai componenti durante il personale percorso di formazione. Iniziati all’arte della musica in età infantile, i tre provengono da orientamenti chitarristici diversi: il rigore e la compostezza propri della musica classica per Polacchini – diplomato in chitarra classica al Conservatorio di Carpi – e l’estro e la spregiudicatezza della musica contemporanea per Borgatti, mentre la fusione di entrambe le scuole caratterizza il linguaggio di Minozzi. Occasione di ulteriore collaborazione per i tre è la comune attività di insegnamento presso la Scuola di Musica dell’Unione dei Comuni Modenesi Area Nord, oltre al ruolo di solisti che li accomuna all’interno della Lybra Guitar Orchestra – orchestra di chitarre formata esclusivamente da studenti, ex-studenti ed insegnanti della scuola stessa. In un primo momento il mondo degli artisti di strada affascina i tre a tal punto da spingerli a partecipare a numerosi festival in diverse città italiane ed estere (tra cui München e Salzburg). In seguito, il desiderio di atmosfere intimistiche li ha portati ad esibirsi in luoghi più raccolti e consoni ad un pubblico alla ricerca di un ascolto più attento. Nel proprio curriculum i Bruskers annoverano concerti in occasione di inaugurazioni di mostre d’arte, stagioni teatrali, eventi privati, oltre ad una collaborazione con Radio Pico e alla partecipazione al FESTIVAL INTERNAZIONALE CHITARRISTICO ARTE A 6 CORDE. Il repertorio comprende composizioni tratte dalla tradizione jazzistica e brasiliana oltre alla rivisitazione di brani classici e popolari in chiave moderna e accattivante: Autumn leaves (J. Kosma), Quebra Queixo, Marchinha de Carnaval (C. Machado), Caravan (D. Ellington), Take the “A” train (B. Strayhorn), Nature Boy (E. Ahbez), Libertango (A. Piazzolla), Yesterdays (J. Kern), Garota de Ipanema (C. Jobin), A night in Tunisia (D. Gillespie), Blues connotations (O. Coleman), Blue rondo a la Turk (D. Brubeck), Mediterranean Sundance (P. de Lucia), Fragile (Sting). |
