NIO-K & LASCO, frères jumeaux d’origine congolaise, créent en 2007 le groupe MAPASSA.Influencés par des artistes tel que BONE THUGS ‘N HARMONY, Gregory ISAACS, UGK, BUSTA RHYMES, WU TANG CLAN, MAPASSA a su développer son univers artistique autour de différentes sonorités musicales (dancehall, hip hop, reggae, musique africaine…)La complicité et l’alliance des identités artistiques font aujourd’hui la particularité du groupe.Les textes sont inspirés de faits réels et de souvenirs vécus pendant l’enfance comme la guerre.
C’est pourquoi la phrase « Aide toi d’abord et le ciel t’aidera » représente MAPASSA.
