DISTRAUGHT BEGUN ITS ACTIVITIES IN FEBRUARY OF 1990, IN PORTO ALEGRE/RS, BRAZIL. IN THE SAME YEAR, THE BAND RELEASED THE DEMO TAPE “TO LIVE BETTER”.


THE THE FIRST CD RECORDING WAS IN 1994, WITH THE SPLIT-CD “ULTIMATE ENCORE”, WITH 2 BANDS OF SÃO PAULO . IN THE MIDDLE OF 1995, THE BAND REALESED THE DEMO TAPE “ADVANCE TAPE”.


IN 1998, DISTRAUGHT RELEASED ITS FIST ALBUM, TOTALLY INDEPENDENT: “NERVOUS SYSTEM”. AFTER 3 YEARS, THE BAND RELEASES THE SECOND CD, CALLED “INFINITE ABYSSAL” 2001, BY ENCORE RECORDS.


IN OCTOBER OF 2004, THE GOUP RELEASES ITS MOST RECENT ALBUM, “BEHIND THE VEIL”, BY MARQUEE RECORDS, PRODUCED BY FABIANO PENNA (FORMELY OD REBAELLIUN). THE ALBUM HAS AN EXCELENT RECORDING QUALITY AND BRINGS SOME INNOVATIONS: MULTIMEDIA TRACK WITH PHOTOS, BIOGRAPHY, LYRICS AND THE FIRST VIDEOCLIP OF THE BAND “THE ORDER”.


DISTRAUGHT MADE SHOWS IN MANY BRAZILIAN CITIES IN THE FOLLOWING STATES: RIO GRANDE DO SUL, SANTA CATARINA, PARANÁ, SÃO PAULO, MINAS GERAIS, ESPÍRITO SANTO, MONTEVIDEO/URUGUAY, IN 1998 AND 2001. MOST RECENTLY, THE GROUP MADE A TOUR IN THE MAIN CITIES OF THE NORTH AND NORTH-EAST OF BRAZIL , IN THE FOLLOWING STATES: PARÁ, CEARÁ, BAHIA , SERGIPE, PARAÍBA, PERNAMBUCO, RIO DE JANEIRO AND SÃO PAULO.

MANY TIMES THE BAND SHARED THE STAGE WITH IMPORTANT BANDAS OF THE NATIONAL AND INTERNANTIONAL SCENE, LIKE NERVOCHAOS, ZERO VISION, SCARS, TORTURE SQUAD, VULCANO (SP), DROWNED (MG), KRISIUN, HIBRIA AND REBAELLIUN (RS), CRIMINAL (CHILE), REQUIEN AETHERNAM (URUGUAY), VADER (POLAND), DESTRUCTION, TANKARD (GERMANY). FOR INTANCE.


AFTER ‘BEHIND THE VEIL’ BRAZILIAN TOUR IN 2005, GUSTAVO STUEPP LEAVES THE BAND FOR PERSONAL REASONS, AND IN HIS PLACE ENTER THE BASS PLAYER NELSON CASAGRANDE. AT THIS TIME, DISTRAUGH NEEDS A FEW MONTHS TO ADAPT, BECAUSE THE BAND WAS ALREADY COMPOSING.

IN APRIL 2007, DISTRAUGHT WON THE REGIONAL COMPETITION OF WACKEN OPEN AIR METAL BATTLE IN PORTO ALEGRE, AND WENT TO SÃO PAULO TO PRESENT AT THE FINALS, STAYING IN SECOND PLACE AMONG FIVE FINALISTS.

AT THIS TIME, DISTRAUGHT IS IN STUDIO FINISHING RECORDING THE NEXT ALBUM.
