| Swank was formed in 1996 by guitarist and vocalist Ryan Anderson from New York City, and drummer Timoty Cid from Buenos Aires; with a unique blend of swing, blues, soul jazz, and a-go-go, Swank established itself as one of the most entertaining live shows in Buenos Aires, and became regulars at various bars and nightclubs on the Porteño under scene, including Mundo Bizarro, Niceto, and Tobago. The original lineup included bassist Leandro Hipaucha, pianist Patan Vidal, saxophonist Damian Nisenson, and a rotating crew of killer horn players. Willy Crook, who played Tenor for Swank for a stint in 1997, produced the bands first, self-titled CD Swank, released in 1999. Several cuts from the CD were prominently featured on a number of Argentine TV shows. Swank brought its unique blend of American roots music to cities throughout Argentina, usually thanks to Willy Crook y los Funky Torinos, and participated in a number of highly successful Jazz festivals in the city of Buenos Aires.Swank's second CD, "Too Late" was released in in February of 2008.
