| It’s time to dispel the inaccurate and divisive notion that humans originated from 5 different food groups, as if all ethnicities grew from the dirt with no genetic connection to one another. The scientific evidence supporting "ONE HUMAN RACE" is both overwhelming and compelling, and it’s simply illogical and factually inaccurate to imply there is more than one race in this modern age of enlightenment. In just the past 5 years, Professor Stephen Oppenheimer of Oxford University’s Green College, completed the synergizing of mitochondrial DNA evidence, archaeology, anthropology; geology, historical climate info & linguistic research that essentially demonstrates all humans are genetically connected to the same group of people who migrated out of Africa over 60,000 years ago. This recent, cummulative scientific evidence overwhelming supports Dr. Martin Luther King’s assertion nearly 50 years ago that there exists only “One Human Race”. All people of all colors owe their original ancestry to Africa. We know our melanin content, eye shape, hair texture and body-type changed as we migrated to different environments, diets and weather conditions with varying UV intensities, but sadly have yet to acknowledge how our species once looked more similar than different. Ironically, but fortunately, with our shrinking world today, there is increased intermingling among nations and ethnic groups, and we are now heading back in the direction of looking more similar once again. MixIcan International Inc. and Mixie’s International, contends it is time to clarify and revolutionize the way we think and look at one another. Being a Caucasian, I can now acknowledge my original, ancestral Mother looked more like Oprah Winfrey than my own biological Mom. We believe it is time to: 1. Differentiate “race” from ethnicity, culture and heritage. These terms are not synonymous, and too many misunderstandings arise from this confusion. 2. Introduce legislation to substitute ’ethnicity’ for ’race’ on all government applications. Government acknowledgment that humans belong to “one race” is a critical initial step to improving relations among different ethnicities and cultures. 3. Acknowledge all humans are mixed and genetically connected. 4. Recognize improved communications, travel and global commerce facilitates the human amalgamation process, thereby increasing the number of individuals with obvious mixed external features. Having already populated the extreme corners of our planet, our new journey is now inward with increased frequency of intermingling among cultures and ethnicities. 5. Recognize that people with more obvious, mixed external characteristics (Tiger Woods, Halle Berry, Barack Obama, Thomas Brooks, Adeline etcetera) endure unique challenges, social pressure and conflict from multiple ethnic sources. 6. Teach that all must seek ways to overcome conflict and growing pains, and become better individuals, despite unique adversity and burdens. 7. Teach that external appearance, color, age, religion, gender, sexual preference, national origin and language have nothing to do with measuring an individual’s character, integrity or internal beauty. 8. Include all of the above, and “One Human Race” research implications into the educational system at all grade levels ASAP. I have sent information and show proposal packages to Oprah Winfrey, CNN, KTLK, KABC, KNBC, KTTV, KCAL and others, but have yet to receive any interest in discussing the genetic bonds that connect all people as ONE HUMAN RACE.
