CRISTIN CLAAS Wenn Cristin Claas singt, eröffnen sich kleine Welten. Zusammen mit ihren beiden Mitmusikern Christoph Reuter (Klavier, Fender Rhodes) und Stephan Bormann (Gitarre) reist die Sängerin für ihre Konzerte quer durch Deutschland, füllt dabei stetig mehr und größere Clubs und spielt auf Festivals mit Musikern wie Nils Landgren. Eine Stimme, zwei Instrumente - mehr braucht Cristin Claas nicht, um ihr Publikum zu bannen. Für ihr Album "In The Shadow Of Your Words" schrieb die Band Songs voller Poesie zwischen Pop und Jazz, und das in drei Sprachen. Die Erklärung ist für Cristin Claas scheinbar einfach: "Es gibt Songs, zu denen passt einfach ein englischer Text. Manche Dinge lassen sich wiederum besser in deutsche Worte formen. Und wenn es die Worte nicht gibt, um ein Gefühl zu beschreiben, dann erfinde ich sie eben. Bei uns sucht sich jeder Song seine Sprache selbst." Was dabei herauskommt, nennt Cristin Claas schlicht und einfach "Songpoesie". "Großartige Stimme. Eine Musik, die sofort unter die Haut geht. Cristin Claas zu hören, tut einfach gut." (DNN) "Poesie pur. Musik, die jedes Herz berührt - selbst wenn man keins hat." (AZ) When Cristin Claas sings, she opens up new worlds. Together with her fellow musicians Christoph Reuter (piano, Fender Rhodes) and Stephan Bormann (guitar), she travels all over Germany to give concerts, filling more and larger clubs and appearing at festivals with well-known artists like Nils Landgren. One voice, two instruments – that's all Cristin Claas needs to captivate her audience. For their album "In The Shadow Of Your Words", the band has written songs full of poetry that lie between pop and jazz – and in three different languages. Cristin Claas explains: "There are some songs where an English text fits best, but then there are other things that it's just easier to say in German. And if no words exist to describe a particular feeling, then I invent them. Each of our songs finds its own language." Cristin Claas has a simple name for the result: she calls it "song poetry".
