Armed with a handful of songs and a three song EP; Marc Amendola, Jim Dizm, Neal Pearson and Jeff Sobon took the stage, determined to carve out a place for themselves and the fans they were just moments away from winning. Two years and thousands of miles later, Fear the State has done just that.Early 2006, found Fear the State releasing their first, full length album, Trust Nothing to a hungry fan base. The release of Trust Nothing hit the music world globally. The songs, Live Again and Get to You both received national airplay while the track Stranded eclipsed national radio play by being featured in ESPN’s X-Games Slammed & Stomped.Always on the road supporting Trust Nothing; Marc, Jim, Neal and Jeff have taken their own brand of hard rock infused with melody, out of the Northeast to all points south, from North Carolina and Georgia to Mississippi and Texas. Fear the State sees every gig as an opportunity to spread the word about who they are and what they do, gaining fans with every note they play.All the members of Fear the State take the words of their song Live Again to heart, grabbing the opportunities and, in turn, the successes that come their way…and successes have come their way. From simple things, like being one of the last bands to take the fabled stage at CBGB’s to being voted The Best New Group In Connecticut by the readers of the Hartford Advocate, Fear the State strives for bigger and better things. Additional recognition came to the band when guitarist Marc Amendola won endorsements from both Hamer Guitars and Tonepros Bridge Systems and bassist Jeff Sobon was endorsed by Spector Basses.National endorsements, touring the United States and globally recognized songs are more than enough reason for other bands to want to trade places with Fear the State. As nice as those things are and as hard as Fear the State has worked to make them happen, it’s not what this band is all about. Marc Amendola, Jim Dizm, Neal Pearson and Jeff Sobon would still be Fear the State without all of the success that has come their way for one simple reason…the music.Here is the toad's place pass.
