| Marc Mysterio grew up in the French-Canadian city of Montréal, Québec. The parellells between Montréal and Paris, however, go way beyond just the language. Indeed, during Mysterio's teen years, the french dance scene had just exploded, and young Marc was quickly immersed in to this style. "I would frequently enter Montréal dance clubs while I was still under age, just to hear the newest sounds from France. This was before the internet had been readily accesable and used to transmit radio shows or pod-casts; hence, this was my only way to hear the newest tracks coming out from France, prior to the local radio stations airing them", says the young star producer. He continues, "Although, the french star producer/djs who specialized in this music would regularly visit Montréal, for whatever reason, our own producers here in Canada, whom had commercially available releases, simply neither adapted to this sound, or tried to rebel against it. There was some decent material out, but it was so underground that it never cracked the surface. This was truly a shame since we share so many cultural similarites with our French Brothers and Sisters in Paris, music included, not to mention the fact that the demand for this sound remains strong, however, their were no home-grown artists who were interested in producing it. This was really a motivating force for me because not only would I experience success at home and abroad, but it would lead to further exposure and recognition of the great french artists by whom I am influenced'. As for the role of vocalists in house music -- where the producer is the signed artist -- Mysterio had this insight, "I find that vocalists in house music today are very under appreciated. I believe in giving the Vocalists feature credits and or co-credit whereas they are usually instrumental in writing lyrics for the tracks. It is a shame that in some instances one must search to learn as to whom the singer is on a certain track. I look forward to bringing greater exposure to the role of vocalists in house music through aggressively marketing the cooperative effort, as well as joint live performances of our work(s)". Furthermore, rather then simply produce his own music and/or collaborations, and submit them to labels all over the world in hopes that it would be singed, the young producer brought his entrepreneurial skills to the table with the lauch of his World Class Record Label. "All to often, people spend more time to find a record label that supports their needs, as opposed to simply creating the opportunity for themselves. My label now has international distribution for my album both commercially, and on hundreads of digital download stores world-wide. Simply put, the 'World Class' label provides an outlet for artists who love the french style of house/dance music, such as myself." Mysterio concludes, "The combination of my productions, as well as the initiative I took to create my own opportunities has led to great success and recognition internationally." Hence, Marc Mysterio made his arrival on the international Stage. Finally, Marc Mysterio has received an outpour of support from international artists, vocalists, djs, and producers, all of whom are anxious to collaborate with him, and/or to be the first to receive his latest productions. Hence, whereas 2007 has been a breakout year for this young producer, with many other releases collaborations with World Class Vocalists (e.g. Tiff Lacey, Nic Kat, Lisa Law, Linda Newman), producers, and djs to come, as well as live perfermances -- all over the world -- and in 2008, Marc Mysterio will only further cement his place as one of the top producers in the world! |
