Right now we are preparing ourselves for our first recording of the Naym-Lp, which is planned for December 2007. Because we don't want to keep you waiting for to long, a new demo will be released shortly, somewhere November if all goes according to plan. Some of our new tracks have already been recorded at Geert's place in Genk and we are very happy with them... so keep on checking our space and you'll find new material soon!See you all soon !!!No Angry Young ManNAyM- No Angry Young Man-singer-songwriter band from Belgium Spring 2006, the roads of Johan Loeckx and Jeroen Van Ham, 2 Belgian musicians, cross. Their common musical interests ultimately result in the formation of NayM. Soon, Pieter Hulst joins the band. The trio strives to combine open-minded melodies with honest and pure emotions, resulting in songs that –above all- tell stories. About now, elsewhere here and how it used to be. The band's sound has an atmospheric, dreamlike quality. The lack of a traditional rhythm section brings their music back to basics. Most of the multi-vocal arrangements are difficult to pin down to a specific classification. However, in general the music style is said to be “singer songwriter”. A base of piano mixed with cello and a dash of guitar, this is Naym. Naym is the acronym for “No Angry Young Man”, a Dylan quote from 1969. For several years, he is part of the pop-rock band Loepoes at the keys. Moreover, Johan is a member of The Party Band, a popular cover band in Belgium. With half a hermit soul, he started exploring his musical boundaries several years ago. Nowadays, his main focus is on writing songs for Naym. Pieter Hulst is a classical educated cellist player. Pieter studied at the Royal Academy of Antwerp and Brussels. He played in the orchestra of Dirk Brosse and Jos Van Immerseel and won the first international price of chamber music in the Netherlands with Trio Schubert in 1998. Pieter has been active as cellist with the contemporary Trio 7 from Antwerp and collaborated to multiple recording sessions for movies. Beside this, he participated in several folk, jazz and classical projects throughout the years. Jeroen Van Ham is the lead vocalist of Naym. This singer songwriter already explored a variety of musical roads. In 1999 he formed the band InGenius which won the Interfaculty Music Contest in Louvain (2002). About 6 years later, he was asked as vocalist and keyboard player in the cover band The Wallstars. Songwriting, however, remains his greatest passion. In 2004 he reaches the quarter finals of Humo’s Rock Rally, Belgium’s biggest song contest. Especially his intimate piano ballads where praised by the national press.
