| ***AVAILABLE FOR DEMOS***Hey everyone, I'm Devin. I had a bio up that was co-written by my manager and various other people, but I felt weird having it be so impersonal and “official”…so HERE I AM.
Just little ol’ me.
Here’s the very condensed version of how I came to be…
I am what I have come to call an “Alastex”. Yes, AlasTex. I was born in Texas, lived there for about half my life, before moving to Alaska for the other half. There’s no place like home, and I have two! I am in LOVE with the two biggest states in this amazing country. I am proud to be an AlasTex ;).
As far as music goes, life doesn’t make a whole heck of a lot of sense without it. "Music touches feelings that words cannot" is a quote I got off of the inside of a chocolate bar when I was a kid and I've never forgotten it! (mmmm, chocolate....) I love when I hear a really great song and I can’t stop smiling, or crying, and it gives me the tinglies all over. Those are the good songs, the ones worth singing.
I’m a singer by the way. I have sung for audiences small and large ever since I was a little curly blond diva who refused to wear anything but pretty dresses. For a good while I was a "closet singer". Literally. To get ready for my first talent show my mom made me practice for her. I was so shy and nervous about singing, so I sang in the closet while she listened from the outside until I was able to take "baby steps" out into the room. I still made her face the wall, though! I have loved performing ever since the moment I walked out onto that stage, so I guess you could say I finally came out of the closet! ;)
I've been writing poetry for a long time, but I just started to really get into writing songs a while back and have cowritten with some really amazing people. I'm always working on new tunes so keep checking back to see and hear the latest news and songs!
Simply, I have loved singing and performing all my life. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. So now here I am in Music City, fresh out of the igloo from Alaska. My husband, dog, and I just moved here to Nashville a few months ago with no car, no furniture, and a lot of winter clothes we don’t use anymore. I love making new friends so "add me" ;) and let me know what you think of my tunes!!!
