SWEETMEAT and the SILVERFISH "Gift the album from iTunes" AVAILABLE ON NANTUCKET AT "THE BOOKWORKS" Watch this interview for PLUM TV Produced by JENELLE FERRI with SWEETMEAT and the SILVERFISH in Garden Rock Studios on Nantucket Island Nantucket Music Productions is a family run recording and audio production studio owned by Nick Ferrantella on beautiful Nantucket Island. Nick and his son Victor produced the debut CD for SWEETMEAT AND THE SILVERFISH , consisting of brothers Vic and Ben Ferrantella with cousin Mike Stefanski and lifelong friend Chris Beamish. The album contains 12 songs written by Victor and Michael. The album was mastered by Jeff Lipton at Peerless Mastering . THE SHEP CATS "Album on the way!" We are nearing the completion of an 11-song album with The Shep Cats. It has been very cool working with Steve Sheppard and our friends Erik Wendelken and Chris Westerlund again. Shep’s songs Tourist Town on the soundtrack from the John Stanton film The Last Call and The Fenway Song have become island favorites. His son Baise Sheppard and long time friend Tony Medeiros from The Chili Brothers play guitars on several tracks. The album will be a mix of original songs as well as some wonderful acoustic covers. These songs will be a great addition to your iTunes library. In the mean time, be sure to have a listen in our music player above. ELLGRASS The CD is available on Nantucket! Nick and Vic produced and engineered the album by the amazing 5 piece bluegrass band EELGRASS . The album features several originals and traditional bluegrass songs with wonderful picking and vocal harmonies. The album is dedicated to the late Ben Murphy, the band's banjo player and close friend, who recently passed away. Chuck Colley & Erik Wendelken "WOOD and STEEL" The album, "Wood and Steel", co-produced by us for the talented and versatile, singer/songwriter/guitar player, Chuck Colley with the always amazing Erik Wendelken playing his French Bass circa 1850. Known for their work with EELGRASS any many other ensembles, the duo will depart from the great vocal harmonies and feature 12 instrumentals written and at various island venues. It is always a great pleasure to work with Chuck and Erik! The Nantucket Sound Compilation in Production We we have been working for a couple of years assembling songs for a compilation CD that will feature local artists and friends. The project has moved slowly ahead but is beginning to take shape with the help of musician/songwriter/producer George Gardos , a close family friend. George also appears on several songs from the new SWEETMEAT AND THE SILVERFISH CD. He is originally from Montreal and played many summer gigs on Nantucket with the Canadian bands BARTHOLOMEW Plus 3 and ENERGY with Gary Ship and Corky Laing . He co-wrote "Silver Paper" and "For Yasgur's Farm" for the rock band MOUNTAIN and co-produced the LAST CALL SOUNDTRACK CD with Laing and Ferrantella. George , his wife Laurie and daughter Susan live on their farm in New Hampshire. The CD will include the song "Empty Sea Shells" written and sung by the talented, Robert VanArsdale, for our friend, the late Felix Pappalardi . We are pleased to have Michael Hayes , backing vocal and Andy Santospago , slide guitar, from the band VINYL SKYWAY , join us on this track. Van now living in New York with his wife Ann and family also has two original songs featured on the LAST CALL SOUNDTRACK CD . There will be two songs by Nantucket's own Allison Leah , a refreshing and talented singer/songwriter. We are exited for people to hear Allison's wonderful songs. The soon to be famous singer/songwriter David Weissman is an exciting addition to the compilation. This amazingly talented artist will be on the music charts in the near future. David writes fantastic songs and has everything necessary to become a shining star!! |
