| Brooklyn's own Ghetto Mentality are four young Hip-hop artists/record label entrepreneurs who live what the characterize as their " Raw, Soul-touching Real-Life music." 24/7! FLM, X-ray, Percent and Villa Dom were all born and raised in the borough;they have also been a part of its throbbing,grass roots music scene for over eight years.Sales of their last single "Get Da Doe", as well as audience reaction to their live performances with acts like Ja Rule, 112 and Lost Boyz (not just in the New York area,but in states as remote as Delaware, North Carolina and California),have created a distinct buzz. With the release of their latest album, on the Group-owned label Engr Records, Ghetto Mentality plans to keep the momentum growing.Considered to be their break-through effort,the new album is called "N It IV Life". The title references the commitment these four have to each other,their community,their label,and MOST OF ALL their music! Currently,the song "Native New Yorker",off of the "N IT IV LIfe" album is on the score and soundtrack of the Independent film "Brothers Gonna Work It Out".Ghetto Mentality also picked up a feature role in the movie "Bringing Good To The Game" Which was released in January of 2004.In the short term,Ghetto Mentality is looking at an increasingly busy future. Determined to gain recognition for Engr records as a powerhouse in the industry as well as continuing it's presence in the hood,they recently signed two exclusive talented local acts,Redd Tramatics and Engr Born( now "Just Cause"). G.M. very successfully dropped three singles and a compilation album on Engr. They also expect to work all day and night promoting "N IT IV LIFE".To be honest with you this MuthaF*cking Album is bringing back the rare essentials to Hip-Hop.
