About Me |
|
It was while studying my film major at University in the fall of 2000 that I started getting work published. The Exorcist was about to have another re-release - this time with newly restored footage; so I used the release as a platform to write about something I was knowledgeable about. In six short years I have written to the excess of 130 plus articles on the horror genre in publications both online and in print in the UK and USA. At the beginning of 2006 I declared my US writing loyalties to the brand new horror magazine HorrorHound - notable inclusions to date being the History of The Video Nasties article in Issue 3 and the Retrospective on An American Werewolf In London in issue 5. In addition to the written work I do within the industry, I have also been involved in convention appearances for horror celebrities, both in the UK and US - I am not really involved in this side of things anymore but still hang out at shows that have a strong horror presence. As of 2007 I have finally taken that leap from critic to creator and started production on my first movie, a feature length documentary on the making of 'An American Werewolf In London'. I am loving every second of being a director, writer and producer and plan to keep on this path for the foreseeable future. I have several projects lined up after the documentary - including another documentary project and then my first feature film. In spite of my new found commitment to filmmaking, I will also be continuing my working relationship to HorrorHound magazine. |

I'd like to meet:PROJECTS AS OF Nov 29th 07:
HorrorHound
Issue 9 is currently at the printers and scheduled to
hit stores (hopefully) just before Christmas. The final
entry in 2007 features a HUGE 20th anniversary
retrospective on Hellraiser - including interviews with
both Clive Barker and ol' Pinhead himself, Doug Bradley.
In addition to this fantastic piece by Hellraiser
fanatic Paul Kane, Issue 9 shows off features on
forthcoming silver screamers Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem
and Tim Burton's Sweeny Todd. And if that wasn't enough,
I make my HorrorHound return with an 80th anniversary
retro on the lost Lon Chaney movie, London After
Midnight! It's still nowhere to be seen, but learn WHY!
Lots to catch in the next issue, so keep an eye out on
those news stands. US residents can find it in your
local Borders, where as UK readers, check your nearest
Forbidden Planet over the next few weeks.
More Beware The Moon coverage coming up soon include an update from a local rag called Wired. Some of you may remember that this hometown magazine ran an interview with me back in June about the documentary. This past week I got a message from the editor asking if they could run an update on the project, to which of course I happily obliged. In addition to this, East Coast horror mag SCARS are doing a cover on John Landis and have approached me to do an accompanying story on Beware The Moon - so looking out for their next issue! A big thank you to everyone who attended the second HorrorHound Weekend a couple of weeks ago. Both the screening and Q&A went tremendously and was truly a dream come true for me, and the John Landis signing went smoothly. I'd like to thank you all again, this time on Mr. Landis' behalf, for waiting in line for so long to meet him. He had a good time in Indianapolis and acknowledged that you guys looked like you were having fun too. Look for some more American Werewolf goodness from HorrorHound over the Summer. Speaking of HorrorHound, as you can see below they have announced their first HorrrorHound Weekend of 2008 - returning to Indianapolis on March 28th-30th to reunite those pesky Cenobites from Hellraiser! Expect some more guest announcements by the end of this week and stay tuned for further convention announcements regarding a second show in Pittsburgh this June - featuring a special guest who has never Dunne a convention before! So what's next for Beware The Moon? Well we are now on a schedule to have the movie edited and mastered in LA by the end of March. After which myself and John Landis will be taking it over to Universal for the next step. My 2008 calendar is already filling up on the convention and appearance front. Looks like you might find me at a few HorrorHound shows, Rock & Shock, Screamfest and the 4th CathARTic Art & Film Festival next year. Stay tuned for more. ****HORROR JOURNALISTS PLEASE READ**** At this time I do NOT have any screeners available for Beware The Moon. We are still shooting it. What we showed at HorrorHound Weekend was a 15-minute work print with temporary picture and sound. Once the documentary is finished I will be sending it to Universal Home Entertainment so it will be up to them whether screeners go out for review. |
