| The guitar playing world is generally divided up into those
people who concentrate on bass, or rhythm or lead.. However, there is the rare breed of players which goes one step further and can play all of these
components simultaneously!
One of these people is the amazing Sydney fingerstyle guitar wiz, Peter Pik. Pik's twenty years of professional experience encompasses jazz, classical, country, rock and pop. He has performed recitals at guitar conventions in Australia, USA, the South Pacific and has supported leading Australian artists including Marcia Hines, James Morrison, Russell Morris and fellow guitar powerhouses, Phil Emmanuel,George Golla,Kevin Borich,Mal Eastick, and Bruce Mathiske. He has also been a regular featured artist at the City Tattersalls Club for the past ten years.
Besides his playing mastery, Peter Pik is also well known for his collaboration with guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel on Tommy's critically-acclaimed guitar instruction book entitled "Note for Note". Peter has faithfully transcribed many of Tommy's tunes for all guitar enthusiasts to learn and enjoy.
Wherever Peter Pik performs, patrons can look forward to hearing a veritable smorgasbord of popular music which covers artists such as Santana, Mason Williams, Stanley Myers, Queen, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, through to the spellbinding instrumentals of guitar virtuosos, Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, Mark Knopfler, and Nato Lima.
Being at a Peter Pik gig is like sitting in a comfortable lounge room with friends. There are no drum machines or tacky props used - What you get is purely a master musician and his insanelydextrous fingers, weaving mellifluous magic on his beloved nylon and steel string guitars. Throw in a great sense of humor - and you then have the complete Peter Pik experience.
