In SlipString Drive , Bender describes how ships using this method of propulsion would appear to those outside of the ship’s partially “gravitationally isolated” region of space while maneuvering at slow speeds. Bender also discusses novel uses for such a vessel, such as saving humanity from comets to supernovae. Instead of slices of bread, our membrane is more like a fluid-filled doughnut or sphere. Additionally, SlipString Drive's Membrane Theory of Gravity eliminates the "leaking graviton" as gravity would be a curvature of our brane created by vibrating strings of matter. The more energy the string has, the more tightly it pulls its ends together, curving spacetime! This modification also predicts dark matter and dark energy!
