Luna Obscura were created by Dimitris Papachristos and Aris Potonos. Initially the idea started in a very friendly manner and for a long time the group was experimenting on its sound. Finding members for an atmospheric band was not an easy task. In 2003 Maria Chrisafi joined the band on vocals and the first recordings took place. Some months later Maria left the band and her place was taken by Gogo Melone. After that George Kostudis joined ..boards and Konstantine Ordulidis on guitars. Finally in May 2004 the demo "Darcanda" containing 3 songs came out. Due to the lack of drummer a drum machine was used, and the bass was played by Steve Dickins. In summer 2004 Byron Kioutusis joined as the bass player and Giorgos Hatzopoulos became the session drummer.

In May 2005 "Darcanda" became demo of the month in the Greek Metal Hammer and the band became more recognisable by a lot of people. A little later they accepted a proposition from Enclave Records (Portugal) to participate in a compilation cd. The band gave a new version of "With my demons I'll celebrate my fall" to Enclave Records and the compilation came out during the winter. The same song and "Symphony of Sighs" were given to other compilations inside and outside of Greece. "Darcanda" took and takes lots of very good reviews from webzines/magazines (Metal Realm 7.5/10, Metalzone 85/100, Throne Of Metal 8,5/10, Metal Domination 9/10, Metal Hammer 8.5/10, Metal Perspective 7/10, Greek Rebels 4/5).

Konstantine Ordulidis and George Kostudis left the band due to personal reasons. In February 2007 the single "Evilyn" came out but only for personal use.
