.. ""I would like to be remembered as somebody who spoke his truth and stood by it through thick and thin, I PAINT WHAT I SEE."Roger Waters - Uncut Magazine - May 2007 "You could put Elton John, U2 and Madonna on stage with The Who, Sting and Paul McCartney, but without the ‘X’ factor, the concert is merely average. Pink Floyd is the ‘X’ fator. Refrase. Pink Floyd with Roger Waters is the ‘X’ factor " -Jack Nicholson-Brain damage "Either you write songs or you don't. And if you do write songs like I do, I think there's a natural desire to want to make records." -Roger Waters " Who did what on The Wall album? - "I've read numeuous interviews about this subject and there's been a lot of arguing over the years as to who came up with the idea. It was Roger's idea to have the school kids sing. That was the big deal. The process of adding an extra verse with just the kids singing on their own was obvious. I instinctively put together a rough mix with the new arrangement, but everyone already knew it was the right thing to do. I don't understand what all the fuss was about. Anyone making the record would have done that". "There were some difficult moments, but I don't think there was ever a question of Roger not finishing the album. He's a very strong person. Not easily deterred from his path. If everyone else had walked out, he would still have finished it.""James Guthrie - Pink Floyd Engeneer and Co-producer of The wall album. " "To say that Roger Waters' creative fire 'burns brightly' is a gross understatement. 'Radiates brilliantly' may be closer to the mark. Face it - Waters is a unique and ground breaking artist who altered the conciousness of an entire generation. It's just that simple. From being a founding member of Pink Floyd and driving force behind arguably the most influencial rock album of all time, "Dark Side of the Moon," to the grand architect of 'The Wall's" massive stage production, Waters has always been an innovator. Not to mention wildly successful. Forget about selling millions of records - his music has changed people's perceptions of reality." ""There's a feeling that i've learned to recognize that says: 'Go to the piano. Take with you a peice of paper. Sit down...' you know, and I do... and then something comes out," says Waters. "But once that something comes out, it's very rare that it's complete." Enter the recording studio. That's the laboratory where inspiration meets magic, transforming Waters into the mad scientist of sound. He turns dials and knobs like an audio Leonardo Da Vinci to reflect the scope of his vision - it's vast. -Mr. Lee (Artist Profiles 2000) shine on you crazy diamond |

Music:Member Since: 12/10/2006Band Website: rogerwaters.com Band Members: "When I was in the band, I did all the thinking, I wrote most of the songs, and I made all the shows...." Roger Waters - Uncut Magazine May, 2007 Visionary Atist "He is one of the most enigmatic figure in all of rock'n roll. This isn't an ordinary rockstar, the man who's visions took you to the Dark Side Of The Moon; his visions took you in the heart of the Machine...into the Belly of the beast, put you up against The Wall, led us to the Final Cut and Amused us to Death. From the first Pink Floyd album to his solo work - his extraordinary visions has changed rock and roll forever." Jim Ladd "Roger Waters is without question one of the greatest singer-songwriters in the history of rock’n’roll. He has taken us from the Dark Side Of The Moon to the heart of man’s animal nature, showed us the insanity behind the wall of stardom, and even given us a glimpse of how our species might be seen as amusing ourselves to death, from an extraterrestrial’s point of view. His observations of the human condition have sometimes been harsh, sometimes gentle, but it has always been called from an artist’s search for the truth" Jim Ladd - April 25, 2008 The Bleeding Hearts Band: Roger Waters (Vocals/Bass) Snowy White (Lead Guitar) Andy Fairweather-Low (Rythm Guitar) Katie Kissoon (Backing Vocals) PP Arnold (Backing Vocals) Graham Broad (Drums) Dave Kilminster (Lead Guitar / Vocals) John Carin (Keyboards / Vocals) Carol Kenyon (Backing Vocals) Ian Ritchie ( Saxophone) "Roger has the most integrity out of anybody I know, what he believes in, he sticks by it, and feels it very strongly. His records always have a twist to them that he's absolutely adamant about. People will go, "You cant do that, and he'll say, "I feel it, so I should do it - I paint what I see. "- Nick Griffiths - Pink Floyd Engineer and Record Producer "Dark Side Of The Moon is my baby. In terms of what the records were about they were my ideas and I wrote them." Roger Waters - Uncut Magazine. June 2003 "I was a bit lazy during the songwriting of Dark side, I didn't actualy bring anything of mine into those rehersal sessions. But it's not something I'm wracked with guilt about. It worked out perfectly. I helped with Breathe and Time. I was just a bit flat - people go through these periods - and I think in the studio while making the album my contributions were fine, it was every bit as good as it should have been. David Gilmour - Guitar World 2003 "There is no question we lost a major contributor, talent or whatever when Roger left, but what's been very interesting has been the way its galvanized us to do things that we woud never have done if Roger had stayed. Dave would never have applied himself to writing - well, I wont say never, he might have, over the period of the next seven to 10 years. Nick Mason - Cream Magazine, February 1988 Influences: .... ""Roger is a very competetive individual and likes a good argument-no question about it. And chances are he’ll win, because he has a very good understanding of the English language" ""I wont tell you that there werent times when I didnt say to David or David didnt say to me, "This would be easier if Roger were here, or Roger would know what to do, or Roger could give us that flavour, etc. But both David and I knew that would mean contending with the rigid, intense, obsessive, and *artistic* Roger." -Bob Ezrin (Penthouse Magazine 1988) ""He can walk into a film cutting room, sitt down with the editor, and take control very knowledgeably of the whole proceedings. He knows the technology, doesn’t really need to rely on anyone else to come up with the ideas. He has his own ideas". - Nick Griffiths, Pink Floyd Engineer and Record Producer , Pink Floyd Engineer and Record Producer "The Final Cut - "Rolling Stone Magazine awarded it the maximum five stars, with resident Floyd critic Kurt Loder calling it a "SUPERLATIVE ACHIEVEMENT" rock art’s crowning masterpiece ," " Not since Bob Dylan’s ’Masters of War’20 years ago""Nick Shaffner - Saucerful of secrets Sounds Like: Amused To Death is a masterful rock parable that ranks with or surpasses the Floyd's finest work. Give this record your full concentration for one listening and be riveted to the point of palpable destress. Play it just once more and you will be hooked in perpetuity, its brilliant design etched in your brainpan, each lavish mise-en-scene invading your dreams. Timothy White "Amused To Death is a concept album of extreme complexity, combining music, lyrics, and sound effects to tell a story within a story, in which lie meaning within meaning. Roger's most overtly political album to date, Amused To Death tells a story, both fictional and not, of the extreme power that TV has become in all our lives, and how it is being used to keep us entertained, opiated, and docile. It is undeniably his best album yet. Billboard Magazine 3/27/93) - Roger Waters was awarded top honors in Billboard Magazine's anual BILLIE AWARDS. Roger Waters new album "Amused To Death" (Sony Music) won best album of the year in the TV/CableÑMusic category. "With Roger Waters the material was very impressive, and I'd been meaning to meet with him a long time going. He's an amazing guy. Anyone who can stuff a five-pound note in the pocket of their coat and go on a hike around the world... I just felt like I've been insignificant against that, you know? I wouldn't go to the end of my road with a five-pound note! (laughs)" Jeff Beck "Roger comes up with the concepts - he's the preacher of the group and spends more time home writing with Pink Floyd in mind," a breeze Gilmour told Rolling Stone in 1978, as his album was being issued. "We get along fine. I know what I give to our sound, and he knows it too. It's not a question of him forcing his ideas on us. I get my ideas across as much as I want to. They would use more of my music if I wrote it." - David Gilmour (Rolling Stones Magazine 1987) "I would not be where I am today had it not been for Roger Waters, and Pink Floyd is a lesser entity without him"- David Gilmour Musician Magazine, 1988 "We could have taken five years to make another album, but Roger looking over the gunsights at us made it happen in 10 months. There was absolutely no' maybe we should, maybe we shouldn't. It was let's do it now, who do we need, how will we do it? It was galvanizing" – "David Gilmour 1988 Musician magazine "You can make your peace on the dark side of the moon... I'll see you there - we can rock n'roll we can make our choice we can say goodbye or say hello..." "Roger Waters _320 "PINK Floyd legend Roger Waters will perform the group’s classic The Dark Side of the Moon album in its entirety in Liverpool – one of only two UK gigs. The bassist and key songwriter will play the Echo Arena on May 15 as a follow-up to his 2007 world tour, which included two sell-outs at London’s Earls Court.Echo Arena sales manager Paul Ashton said: “It is fantastic that the Echo Arena has been included on the upcoming Roger Waters tour. This show will be an amazing spectacle, and it really is a coup for the venue and Liverpool.” Set One will include early Pink Floyd material as well as classic compositions from The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here and The Final Cut. It will also feature songs from solo projects Amused To Death and The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking.Set Two will feature The Dark Side Of The Moon. "Pink Floyd founder heading for The Dark Side at arena concert Feb 27 2008 by Richard Down, Liverpool Daily Post http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u235/moma_floyd/pompeii-9 .jpg If the four of us now got together and put out a record that didn't have our name attached to it it would be bloody difficult. The name 'Pink Floyd', the name not us, not the individuals in the band, but the name Pink Floyd is worth millions of pounds. The name is probably worth one million sales of album, any album we put out. Even if we just coughed a million people will have ordered it simply because of the name. And if anybody leaves, or we split up, its back to our own resources without the name.
