About Me |
|
Our words to you... The world is full of dark sparks. Moments of magic and people of fire. With some people it is plain as day. There's an artistry to the way they walk or a glint in their eye when you spin into sight from across the room. For others it is buried deeper and for some it has almost been forgotten. Cast a glance across a busy street and you will see the ones whose spark is but a glimmer. They walk with tired feet and desperate faces. Imperfect people chasing perfect lives. But you and I are different. Sure we can chit and chat and type and stack with the rest of them but when it comes down to it we are chasing something else.Security is overrated. We believe in passion and fire. Love inside chaos. The world can pass you by if you're just sitting still. We come alive in the evening, when beating drums and beating hearts collide and only the people who are dead inside don't want to hold onto someone. We are Dark Sparks and you can hold on to us. For tonight at least.. x THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT COMMENTS!!! DON'T FORGET TO ADD US ON FACEBOOK ABOVE. OH AND KEEP AN EYE ON OUR GIG GUIDE AT THE TOP FOR SHOWS IN YOUR AREA. Music:Member Since: 4/17/2005Band Website: ilovedarksparks.com Band Members: FOUR DARK SPARKS: Leigh Greenwood - Voice Adam Greenwood - Guitars Simon Green - Bass Rich Kightley - Drums Influences: We like the velvet underground, the smiths, pulp, radiohead, the strokes, the la's, the libertines, bob dylan, the cribs, gang of four, kings of leon, the buzzcocks, yeah yeah yeahs, leonard cohen, arcade fire, BRMC, supergrass, bloc party, the ramones, lou reed, the cure, idlewild, suede, the stones roses, the rakes, good shoes, interpol and neil young. Sounds Like: In 2007 people have said lovely things! Channel 4 Teletext: Demo of the Week - 8/10. "Propulsive classic ‘80s indie fire in The Bunnymen Mould. There’s ambition here that deserves to be matched by a slavering fanbase - 8/10" John Earls Sandman: “Dark Sparks immediately take my aural hand and guide me to a far more exciting place… a passionate cry for attention, bass driven, pounding drum beats, as if Editors had the new youth drive of Bloc Party.” High Voltage: “With jangly guitars, gloriously furious drums, vocal harmonies and contagious lyrics Dark Sparks could prove to be something quite special. 4/5” The Mag: "It takes balls to tackle subjects like this and Dark Sparks have the sincerity to pull it off. Watch out for these indie-disco-wave pioneers!" Our Iron Lung: "Held together by skilfull guitar work and capivating vocal lines it felt like a special moment was dawning over the night. Suddenly people were dancing..." Time For Heroes: "Blood Petrol Fire is a belter with Leigh Greenwood’s vocals giving off a sense of pure anguish while the guitars flurry around the lyrics with menacing intent - it defies belief that such a talented band remain unsigned." In 2007 we have played with some wonderful bands and some rubbish bands. Here are some of the well known ones. There’s a mix… Boy Kill Boy, The Enemy, The Whip, We Start Fires, The Departure, The Strange Death of Liberal England, The Hiss, The Courteeners, The Twang, Komakino, Louie and Air Traffic.
