HUVUDTVÄTT (aka headcleaners) is one of the greatest hardcore punk bands ever to come out of Sweden. With former members of 70's punk outfit Massmedia, Huvudtvätt truly laid the foundation for the classic Swedish hardcore sound. Right from the get-go with their debut release, "Disinfection EP"(amazingly, recorded in '81...there was nothing that sounded like this then) they were nothing short of pioneers of this brutal era of underground punk. With that 'melody meets power' musical backbone of the guitars & drums along with the hoarse yet expressive vocals, this band's raw, driving sound wrote the rules of Swedish punk rock. The band caught the eye of hardcore/punk mainstay, Pushead, who did the artwork for their fourth release, "The Infection Grows EP" and also featured them on his classic, "Beating The Meat" compilation LP alongside The Neos, Olho Seco, Terveet Kädet, Rattus and other big-name acts of the world-wide hardcore punk scene of the time. The Headcleaners' scorching & infectious punk anthems are truly gems and to this day there has been nothing like 'em since. With an in-your-face sound, an unforgiving attitude and a unique character to the vocals, these guys are legends.
